Tennessee baseball sweeps Mississippi State for seventh straight win.

No. 16 Tennessee (30-14, 11-10 SEC) defeated Mississippi State (24-20, 6-15 SEC), 13-2, in seven innings on Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Vols completed a series sweep versus Mississippi State.

Tennessee won, 8-7, in the series opener on Thursday when Griffin Merritt hit a walk-off home run for the Vols.

Tennessee was victorious, 12-8, in game No. 2 on Friday.

Tennessee’s sweep of Mississippi State is the Vols’ sixth sweep of the season and third in Southeastern Conference play. The Vols have recorded 13 SEC series sweeps under sixth-year head coach Tony Vitello since 2018.

Drew Beam (6-2) pitched a complete game Saturday for Tennessee, allowing two runs (one earned), three hits and one walk, while recording seven strikeouts.

Jared Dickey, Christian Moore (2) and Christian Scott hit home runs for Tennessee in the series finale.
