No. 4 Tennessee’s men’s tennis team opened its spring dual match season by sweeping a doubleheader against East Tennessee State Wednesday in Knoxville.
Tennessee won the morning match, 7-0, at Goodfriend Tennis Center before notching a 4-0 victory over the Buccaneers in the afternoon match.
In the first match, Tennessee’s doubles team of Emile Hudd and Shunsuki Mitsui defeated Dimitri Badra and Hugo Logo, 6-3.
Johannus Monday and Mark Wellner notched a 6-3 victory against Juan Jose Vargas and Juan Lombisano, 6-3.
In singles, Monday, Adam Walton, Hudd, Mitsui, Angel Diaz and Conor Gannon all had wins for the Vols.
