Friday’s win is Tennessee’s eighth consecutive.
AJ Causey (2-0) started for Tennessee and pitched seven innings, recording nine strikeouts. He totaled 78 pitches, including 50 strikes, against 22 batters.
Dylan Loy pitched one inning of relief and recorded one strikeout against three batters.
The Vols totaled ten hits, including four home runs: Billy Amick (2), Blake Burke and Dean Curley.
Game No. 2 between Tennessee and Bowling Green is slated for Saturday at 5 p.m. EST. The contest can be watched on SEC Network+.
