The Tennessee baseball team is ranked No. 19 in the Baseball America Preseason College Baseball Poll.
It is the second preseason top-20 ranking for the Volunteers, who are the No. 19 in the D1Baseball Preseason Top 25.
The Diamond Vols are one of nine Southeastern Conference teams in the poll. Other SEC teams making an appearance are Florida (No.1); Ole Miss (No. 5); Vanderbilt (No. 6); Mississippi State (No. 8); LSU (No. 10); Arkansas (No. 14) and Alabama (No. 25).
The SEC led all conferences with nine ranked teams in the poll.
Tennessee peaked at No. 11 in the Baseball America poll in 2020 before COVID-19 brought a premature end to the season.
The Vols were 15-2 when the season was canceled last year and led the nation in runs scored (180). UT was No. 2 nationally with 31 home runs and fifth in the country in hitting (.320).
Tennessee’s pitching staff had the fifth best earned run average in the country (2.00).
