Vols put in ‘good work’ during practice with 12 days until kickoff

Tennessee football puts in good work during practice on Monday with 12 days until kickoff.

Tennessee kicked off its fourth and final week of fall training camp on Monday at Haslam Field.

The Vols will open its 2023 season on Sept. 2 versus Virginia at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee (noon EDT, ABC).

Third-year head coach Josh Heupel met with media on Monday and discussed preparing for the season.

“Good work today out on the grass with the guys,” Heupel said. “This is the end of our true training camp. We’ll push forward and get a lot of good work in, but still move slowly towards more preparation for Virginia. I’ve loved what these guys have done through the practices that we’ve had.

“Good teams continue to get better throughout the course of the season, and we have to continue to push here. 12 days until we kick off. I’m excited about that opportunity. At the same time, we have a lot of ground to cover before we kick off here in a couple of weeks.”
