The Vols first played on Oct. 9 in 1909, losing to North Carolina 3-0.

Tennessee last played on this date in 2010, during the first year as Derek Dooley’s tenure as head coach. The Vols lost to Georgia, 41-14, in Athens.

Tennessee has played the Bulldogs three times on Oct. 9 and the Vols have a 2-1 edge in games between the two SEC East foes.

The Vols defeated Georgia, 19-14, in 2004. Tennessee defeated Georgia, 37-20, in 1999. All meetings were at Georgia.
