Tennessee Vols’ fall baseball preview: Jared Dickey

Tennessee has opened fall practices at Lindsey Nelson Stadium under sixth-year head coach Tony Vitello.

The Vols will play two fall exhibition games.

Tennessee will host Wake Forest Oct. 7 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium at 1 p.m. EDT. The Vols will play Memphis Nov. 6 in Jackson, Tennessee (2 p.m. EDT).

Jared Dickey returns for Tennessee in 2023.

Dickey, a rising redshirt sophomore, is a catcher and outfielder for the Vols.

He appeared in 40 games during the 2022 season and made 25 starts for Tennessee.

Dickey recorded a .380 batting average, totaling 28 runs, 38 hits, eight doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 19 RBIs. He recorded 69 total bases.

Dickey totaled 20 walks and three stolen bases for the Vols despite being injured for a portion of the season.
