KNOXVILLE — Tennessee’s rebounding inefficiency cost itself a victory Tuesday night.
Texas A&M did not shoot well, but the Aggies took advantage of their second, and sometimes, third chances and left Thompson-Boling Arena with a pivotal 63-58 Southeastern Conference victory over the Volunteers, who have now lost two consecutive contests.

The Aggies shot just 30 percent from the floor but out-rebounded the Big Orange (12-8 overall, 4-3 in the SEC) by 25 and they also controlled the tempo of the game despite the fact that Josh Nebo, Texas A&M’s leading scorer had just four points and did not attempt a shot until late in the second half.
He did have five rebounds for the Aggies (10-9, 4-3 SEC).
Wendell Mitchell scored 23 points for Texas A&M while Quenton Jackson added 11 points before fouling out.
Tennessee had four players score in double figures. John Fulkerson led the way with 15. Jordan Bowden added 13 despite struggling again. Santiago Vescovi and Yves Pons finished with 10 points each for the Vols, who were out-rebounded, 53-23.
Texas A&M, which shot 17-for-56 from the floor, had 28 offensive boards while holding the Vols to five.
