Recapping Tennessee’s 3-2 win over Tennessee Tech on Tuesday.

A walk-off single by Max Ferguson lifted Tennessee to victory Tuesday night.

Ferguson’s game winning hit broke a tie and helped the No. 5 Volunteers notch a 3-2 victory over Tennessee Tech at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee (30-8) found itself behind out of the game as the Golden Eagles (12-17) scored first on an RBI groundout by Goldston Gillespie plated leadoff hitter Ed Johnson.

The Vols would answer in the bottom of the frame when a single by Drew Gilbert brought home Logan Seenstra with an unearned run to tie the contest, 1-1.

The Big Orange would take a 2-1 lead in the sixth as Jordan Beck, who would eventually score the winning run, clubbed a solo homer.

The Golden Eagles made it 2-2 in the top of the eighth inning as Cody Lillejohn came up with an RBI single.

On the mound, Sean Hunley (4-2) picked up the victory as he threw two innings of scoreless relief. He gave up one run and had one strikeout.
