Vols’ commits earn high school honors

Tennessee baseball commits earn high school honors.

Three area Tennessee baseball commitments received all-state honors Wednesday.

Dylan Loy, Brooks Wright and Daniel Parris were named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s All-Sate team.

Loy, a rising senior left-handed pitcher and first baseman for Pigeon Forge High School (Pigeon Forge, Tennessee), helped the Tigers advance to the TSSAA Class AA state tournament. Pigeon Forge was the state runner-up for the second consecutive season in 2022.

Loy recorded a 0.59 ERA, 126 strikeouts and a .418 batting average.

Wright, a rising junior for Bearden High School (Knoxville, Tennessee) is a pitcher, catcher and first baseman. Bearden advanced to the Region 2-4A tournament after finishing in last place in the regular-season standings.

Parris, a rising senior for Catholic High School (Knoxville, Tennessee), is a pitcher and infielder.

He recorded a .427 batting average, totaling nine home runs. Catholic advanced to the TSSAA Division II-AA state tournament.
