Vols’ baseball commits earn all-state honors

Tennessee baseball commits earn all-state honors.

Two Tennessee baseball commits have been named All-State by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.

Brooks Wright (Bearden High School, Knoxville Tennessee), a sophomore pitcher, catcher and first baseman, was named to the TBCA’s Division I Class 4A All-State team.

Bearden reached the district tournament championship game after finishing sixth in the regular season standings. The Bulldogs lost to eventual state champion Farragut.

Daniel Parris, a pitcher and infielder for Catholic High School (Knoxville, Tennessee) helped the Fighting Irish reach the Division II-AA state tournament in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Catholic was eliminated by Lipscomb Academy, 11-3.

Parris pitched a two-hit shutout in the semifinals and went 2-for-8 with a home run in the tournament.
