The 2024 season is the first with an expanded 12-team College Football Playoff format. A four-team format was implemented from 2014-23.
Following Week 7 games, ESPN’s Football Power Index released updated percentage chances for teams to make the College Football Playoff.
Tennessee (5-1, 1-1 SEC) has the 12th best chance to make the College Football Playoff, according to ESPN FPI.

The Vols will return to action on Saturday in Week 8 versus Alabama (5-1, 2-1 SEC). Kickoff between Tennessee and the Crimson Tide is slated for 3:30 p.m. EDT and will be televised by ABC.
