The Volunteers have played 16 times on that date and have a record of 10-5-1 in games contested on Oct. 26.
They picked up a big win on Oct. 26, 2019, coming from behind to defeat South Carolina, 41-21, at Neyland Stadium.
UT first played on Oct. 26 in 1901 when it lost to Nashville, 12-5. The Vols shut out Maryville College, 34-0, in 1907.
In 1912, the Volunteers lost to University of the South 33-6 in Chattanooga.
In 1913, the Vols blanked Davidson 9-0. The Volunteers shut out Washington and Lee in 1929, nabbing a 30-0 victory.
The Vols outlasted Centre College, 24-14, in 1935.
In 1940, the Big Orange blanked Florida 14-0. Wake Forest toppled Tennessee, 19-6, in 1946.
The Vols shut out Maryland, 16-0, in 1957. In 1963, the Vols routed Chattanooga 49-7.
The Vols edged Clemson in 1974, earning a hard-fought 29-28 victory. In 1985, the Vols and Georgia Tech played to a 6-6 tie.
In 1996, the Big Orange outlasted Alabama 20-13.
The Crimson Tide beat Tennessee, 34-14, in 2002. The Tide smashed the Vols, 45-10, in 2013.
