The Volunteers have played 16 times on Oct. 19, going 8-7-1 in games contested on that date.

UT first played on Oct. 19 in 1901 when it tied Clemson, 6-6.

In 1907, the Vols lost to Georgia Tech 6-4. The Big Orange notched a 62-0 victory over Tennessee Medical School in 1912.

In 1929, the Volunteers edged Alabama 6-0. In 1935, the Vols lost to the Crimson Tide 25-0.

Tennessee dropped a 14-7 decision to Alabama in 1937. In 1940 UT downed the Crimson Tide, 27-12. In 1946, the Vols shut out Alabama 12-0. The Big Orange blanked Alabama, 14-0, in 1957.

In 1963, Alabama notched a 10-0 victory over UT. The Vols prevailed, 10-0, over the Crimson Tide in 1968.

In 1974, Alabama routed the Vols 28-6. The Volunteers edged the Tide, 16-14, in 1985. In 1991, Alabama prevailed 24-19.

Tennessee edged South Carolina, 25-21, in 2013.

The Vols last played on Oct. 19 in 2019 when they lost, 35-13, to Alabama.
