- ‘Nova returns to action after a Thursday postponement. The Wildcats’ first game since last Saturday comes against a Seton Hall team that has played them as tough as anyone this season. Villanova scraped by Seton Hall 76-74 Jan. 19, in a game contested within four points most of the way.
- Seton Hall has lost three of its last four games, but those losses came against ‘Nova and current No. 14 Creighton and two of them were by a combined six points. The Pirates’ scoring punch has been impressive at times. Overall, SHU is averaging 75.3 points per game to rank fourth in the Big East. Over their last three games, the Pirates are averaging 77 PPG on the strength of a 52.2% mark from the floor.
- F Sandro Mamukelashvili had a big game for the Pirates when they played Villanova earlier this month. Mamukelashvili stuffed the stat sheet with 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The 6-foot-11 senior leads Seton Hall in scoring at 17.9 PPG.

Villanova was coming off nearly a month-long layoff before its first meeting with Seton Hall. The Wildcats led that game by 9 with seven minutes to play. The layoff may have contributed to ‘Nova being gassed in nearly coughing up all of that lead. Also, the Pirates shot 55.8% from the floor in that game.
Figure on a more complete game from Villanova in this contest. The Wildcats are the lean but only at a price better than -210. PASS.
Against the spread (ATS)
Villanova is 5-0 ATS in its last five as a road favorite and 7-1-1 in such games against teams playing .600 basketball. Look for the Wildcats to have a significant edge in 3-point shooting and in the turnover margin.
