Villanova at Marquette: Three things to know
- Marquette defeated a pair of top-10 teams in an 11-day span (Dec. 4-14) earlier this month. The Golden Eagles downed Wisconsin at home on Dec. 4. Then they topped Creighton on the road on Dec. 14. Both teams were ranked No. 7 in the nation at the time. Since the win over the Bluejays, Marquette has dropped consecutive games — vs. Seton Hall and at Xavier.
- Sophomore F Jeremiah Robinson-Earl has notched 43 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists over the Wildcats’ last two games. Robinson-Earl scored 25 points in Villanova’s last game, an 88-68 win over St. Joseph’s on Saturday. He’s averaging 16.6 points per game.
- Marquette won last year’s game in Milwaukee (71-60, Jan. 4), tripping up a visiting ‘Nova for a second straight year. Since 2017, when playing the Wildcats on MU home hardwood, the Eagles are 3-1 straight-up and 3-1 ATS. Last year’s contest at Fiserv Forum marked Villanova’s only loss in a 14-game stretch from Dec. 1-Jan. 28.
