Vikings WR Stefon Diggs expecting to be moved and Trent Brown makes pitch for him to come to Raiders

We’ve seen already arguably the best receiver in football get traded in what looks to be one of the worst deals ever made.

For those who missed it, the Texans trade DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals along with a fourth-round pick in exchange for the bloated contract of running back David Johnson, a second-round pick in this draft and a 4th rounder in the 2021 draft. Hopkins is just entering his prime and the Texans didn’t even get a first-round pick in the deal. Just mind-boggling.

The ridiculousness of that trade aside, it was followed by some making ominous claims that more big names, perhaps even big-name receivers, will be on the move before all is said and done.

Then Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs took the moment to tweet out that “It’s time for a new beginning” suggesting perhaps that it’s time to leave Minnesota.

Diggs is coming off a season in which he averaged and outstanding 17.9 yards per catch with totals of 1130 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. The deep threat speedster has 30 touchdowns in five NFL seasons.

Some were quick to point out that Diggs has said things like this before, and so people shouldn’t read much into it. Diggs doubled down on it and it prompted a response from Raiders right tackle Trent Brown trying to convince him that Las Vegas is where he should be.

Interesting that Brown threw in Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb in there too. I guess we know where his head is at.

Diggs is the type of the receiver the Raiders need to stretch the field. Brown knows that as much as anyone.
