The Vikings switched up their wide receiver room this offseason, trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Bills.
With the first-round pick the Vikings received from the Bills, Minnesota took LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
The Vikings hope that Jefferson can help take some pressure off of Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen.
While there might not be as much talent in the room, Thielen is excited to work with Jefferson and giving him a pointer or two.
“I’m excited honestly to get in the same room with [Jefferson] when this is all over with and get on the field and just try to help out where I can,” Thielen said via the Star Tribune. “I really enjoy that part of the game, teaching, coaching and helping guys understand the game a little bit better. I was telling someone the other day that that stuff actually helps me, when I’m talking, when I’m coaching, when I’m teaching, I’m actually really talking to myself. I get better that way and excited again.”
Thielen was banged up for the majority of the second half of last season and will be excited to get back on the field. The hope for him is that he won’t be double-teamed on every passing play. Jefferson could help with that.
