Minnesota traded Stefon Diggs this offseason, and now that its leading receiver from 2019 is gone, the team will have to go about replacing that production.
The presumptive best choice to do so appears to be Justin Jefferson, the wide receiver the Vikings drafted in the first round this year. Sure, Jefferson doesn’t have to be a full-on replacement for Diggs, but a decent season can go a long way to making sure the Vikings passing game doesn’t fall off.
Bleacher Report, however, doesn’t think Jefferson as wide receiver two is a given. The outlet listed the wide receiver position as the best fantasy football positional battle for 2020. Here’s what it said:
“Jefferson’s true value will hinge on the competition in Minnesota at wide receiver. He could be anything from a must-start No. 1 wideout to a low-end flex option.
Presumably, Jefferson will compete with the likes of Olabisi Johnson and Tajae Sharpe to be the No. 2 receiver opposite Adam Thielen—an important role, as the Vikings often rely on just two wideouts.”
Bleacher Report went on to say that Jefferson has the capability of surpassing Thielen as Cousins’ No. 1 option. So I guess his ceiling is high, according to the outlet.
