Vikings trade 87th overall pick to 49ers

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired two extra picks from the San Francisco 49ers to move down to pick 102.

The Minnesota Vikings were slated to select at the 87th overall pick, but they chose to trade down. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have traded pick 87 to the San Francisco 49ers for picks 102, 164 and 222.

The Vikings move down only 15 spots in round three, picking up the last pick in the third round in 102. There isn’t a massive talent gap between the two picks and there are multiple players available that can help the Vikings, especially in the secondary.

The Vikings now have six picks in the remainder of the NFL draft.

  • Round three, No. 102
  • Round four, No. 119
  • Round five, No. 158
  • Round five, No. 164
  • Round six, No. 211
  • Round seven, No. 222
