Vikings tabbed as a team to get back to the postseason this year

The Minnesota Vikings were listed a team to make the playoffs after not getting a 2020 postseason berth.

This past season, Minnesota relied on rookies and other inexperienced players and got what it deserved: a season without a playoff berth.

However, the Vikings will have a lot different of a roster in 2021. Minnesota fixed its defense in free agency. A year where the Vikings offense produces relatively the same as it did in 2020, could put the team back in the postseason.

That’s what Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports seems to think so anyway. La Canfora tabbed the Vikings as a team to make the postseason after missing out on the playoffs in 2020. Here’s what he said:

“Well, if the Packers are falling off due to A-Rod drama, somehow has to fill that void. Might as well be Minnesota, because, well, there isn’t much else to go with. Kirk Cousins will respond to having a new understudy, they should be a little better in the trenches, and the Bears and Lions are basically rebuilding (though only one of them admits it). They have an MVP candidate in the backfield at RB and are loaded at WR and Mike Zimmer will get the defense to play at least a little better than a year ago.”

I’d argue that Zimmer has to get the Vikings defense to play a lot better than it did a year ago. Otherwise, Minnesota’s defense might hold it back from taking down some of the better teams in the NFL.
