The Minnesota Vikings have officially signed their entire 2022 rookie draft class, following Sunday’s signings of cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. and offensive guard Ed Ingram.
News of Ingram’s signing broke on early Sunday, and the team confirmed both signings, including Booth, later in the evening.
Booth is expected to compete with veteran cornerback Cameron Dantzler for the starting job across from Patrick Peterson. There’s hope he can develop into a key piece on the backend of the defense, but it’ll be a high learning curve considering he missed the spring work after underdoing sports hernia surgery.
So this will actually be the first time he’s on the field and competing with his new teammates. He certainly has all of the potential to catch on quickly and leapfrog Dantzler on the depth chart.
But there are a lot of question marks surrounding his arrival. Is he 100 percent after the surgery? And how quickly can he get up to speed with the defense?
Not knowing the answers is still a good problem to have for a Vikings team happy to finally have their last two remaining draft picks under contract.
