Vikings set to hold first padded training camp practice on Monday

Business is about to pick up at the Vikings’ training camp.

Business is about to pick up for the Minnesota Vikings with the team slated to have their first padded training camp practice on Monday.

This is the time when we’ll get a better idea of where the team and individual players are at in their development with things becoming much more physical.

We’ve already witnessed a teaser in the back-and-forths between wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette and rookie cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. at practice last Thursday. The two were locked in a heated one-on-one battle that even led to Smith-Marsette tossing a penalty flag at Booth.

There will surely be more of that with so many players competing for starting positions on the roster. This is also one of the more talented Vikings teams we’ve seen in years. So confidence is supremely high right now with players on both offense and defense looking to establish dominance.

A little in-camp competition never hurt anybody, and this Vikings group will have plenty of it once the pads come on.
