Vikings select LSU S Jay Ward at No. 134 overall in fourth round of 2023 draft

The Minnesota Vikings continue to prioritize aggressive defensive backs with the selection of LSU S Jay Ward.

The Minnesota Vikings traded down from No. 119 to No. 134 and got a 2024 fifth round pick. In doing so, the Vikings selected LSU safety Jay Ward.

As you can tell by his athletic profile, Ward has an elite 10-yard split, something the Vikings have prioritized with their draft picks, especially in the secondary, under general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
