Safety Anthony Harris went on the podcast RapSheet and Friends, where he discussed the Vikings and his inevitable free agency.
“I love Minnesota, the culture and my teammates. I’d like to go back there. But it’s smart to keep my options open,” Harris said.
The “options open” part of this quote is probably troubling for Vikings fans to hear, considering it will already be difficult for the team to re-sign Harris. The safety is coming off a season where he had six interceptions, tied for a league best. And Minnesota is strapped for cash at the moment, so a situation where Harris returns to the team is difficult to work out.
It’s not impossible, but it’s difficult. The Vikings have holes to fill on the defense, and signing Harris would make it harder to fix those problem areas. Also, the team is reportedly interested in bringing back safety Andrew Sendejo.
