Vikings S Harrison Smith listed as Minnesota player most likely to make Hall of Fame

CBS Sports thinks of all the Vikings players currently on the roster, Harrison Smith has the best chance of making the Hall of Fame.

Harrison Smith is off to a strong start in his NFL career.

Such a strong start, that CBS Sports thinks he has the best chance of any current Minnesota player to make the Hall of Fame.

The outlet said that Harris isn’t a lock and that he needs “to continue his current string of success” if he wants to make it. Here’s what else CBS Sports said:

“Smith’s career is following a similar trajectory to that of Eric Weddle, a 14-year veteran who retired earlier this offseason. Weddle’s career, which included six Pro Bowl and two All-Pro selections, could be described as “on the fence” as it relates to his future Hall of Fame odds. That means that Smith, a five-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro, will likely need to rack up more individual accolades if he wants to improve his future Hall of Fame odds. Given his age (he turned 31 earlier this offseason), Smith should have several more productive seasons ahead of him.”

There are some other players that I think have a case for getting the nod over Smith. The one I think might be more likely is Danielle Hunter, considering he’s the youngest player in NFL history to get to 50 sacks. Smith is a solid pick, though, and I could see him making it if he takes five years to enter any significant decline.
