Vikings RB Dalvin Cook not very likely to hold out from camp in July

Asked about the likelihood on a scale from one to 10 that Cook will actually hold out, The Athletic’s Arif Hasan gave it a three.

Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook will reportedly refrain from team-related activities until he receives a “reasonable” deal,  per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

But how long can Cook hold out? The Athletic’s Arif Hasan thinks not a long time. Hasan went on the CBS Sports’ “Pick Six NFL Podcast” to discuss the Cook situation. Asked about the likelihood on a scale from one to 10 that Cook will actually hold out, Hasan gave it a three.

Here’s what Hasan said about Cook:

“I don’t think it’s very likely,” Hasan said. “The Vikings haven’t had to deal with very many holdouts in their history, and Dalvin doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would.”

Keep in mind there are team-related activities right now but no training camp. Twenty-eight teams, the Vikings included, have to report by July 28, according to Schefter.

Cook is coming off a 2019 where he had 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns. Here are three reasons why the Vikings should try and keep him.
