Vikings ranked as the team that needs Deshaun Watson the 16th most

Do the Minnesota Vikings need Deshaun Watson? The Texans QB would certainly help.

Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback, but Deshaun Watson would be a clear upgrade.

That said, could the Vikings work out the logistics to make a deal for Watson? It’s questionable. And with the way the team is locked into Cousins, it doesn’t seem likely.

Our friends at FTW recently ranked every NFL team by how much they need Watson. Minnesota came in 16th overall. Here’s what FTW’s Steven Ruiz and Charles McDonald wrote in regards to the Vikings’ quarterback situation:

“Watson is undoubtedly better than Kirk Cousins, but the Vikings only have one pick in the first two rounds of the draft (14th overall). Cousins and two first-round picks won’t be the best offer the Texans get. It would be fun to see Watson, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson shred opposing defense, though.”

Cousins is good, but it’s hard to rationalize his massive contract. It’d be great to see Minnesota get out from under Cousins and land one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. However, I doubt it happens. If any team in the NFC North does it, my guess would be the Bears land him.
