Minnesota added talent through the draft, and for CBS Sports, that’s good enough to repeat last season’s record.
They predicted the Vikings to go 10-6 in 2020, and ranked the team No. 13 in its recent NFL Power Rankings.
Notably, the Packers were the only NFC North team ahead of the Vikings. Here’s what CBS Sports said about the current outlook of Minnesota:
“They had a good draft, adding a lot of quality players. But can the defense be as good with so many players departing and new players starting?”
CBS Sports brings up a good point. The team has lost a lot of talent and it’s hard to predict just how good the rookies, who will presumably replace some of the veterans, can be in 2020.
Minnesota drafted two players in the first round this year: LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson and TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney. I think those two should at least be big contributors for the Vikings, with some of the other draftees possibly competing for opening spots.
