The Vikings have Adam Thielen and first-round draft pick Justin Jefferson at wide receiver. That wasn’t good enough for Bleacher Report.
The outlet ranked Minnesota in the bottom half of teams in its recent wide receiver rankings. Here’s what it said about the choice:
“Perhaps the Vikings move Thielen and Jefferson around to find out what works best since they’re both effective out of the slot. In addition, Minnesota will have Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr. as pass-catching threats in the middle of the field.
This group has potential, but that’s contingent upon Jefferson’s ability to make an immediate impact and Smith’s sophomore development.”
Though Bleacher Report ranked the Vikings No. 24, the outlet did say that Thielen “should rebound with a strong 2020 campaign following Stefon Diggs’ departure to the Buffalo Bills (via trade).”
Thielen played in just 10 regular-season games after dealing with a hamstring injury. If he can come back and play like his usual self, I expect the Vikings to be higher up on most outlet’s rankings of wideouts.
