Vikings’ playoff chances after Week 13 loss

The Vikings’ 2021 playoff hopes took a big hit.

Minnesota was expected to beat Detroit on Sunday in Week 13.

But the Vikings were lackadaisical — throughout the game and in coverage at the very end. The Minnesota secondary sagged off Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jared Goff found his receiver for the game-winning score.

The Vikings took a hit in their playoff chances with that one.

Minnesota has a 28% of making the postseason now, according to FiveThirtyEight.com. Minnesota had a 50% chance of making the playoffs after the loss to San Francisco in Week 12.

The Vikings have just a 0.4% chance of winning the division.  The Packers have all but locked up the NFC North at this point. At 5-7, Minnesota needs to finish the year strong if it has any hope of contending in 2021.

For Vikings fans, things are looking bleak, at least for this season. Minnesota can give its fanbase slight hope with a win over Pittsburgh tomorrow, though.  The Steelers have even less of a chance of making the postseason this year at 18%, per FiveThirtyEight.com.
