Minnesota placed two offensive linemen, C Garrett Bradbury and G Dakota Dozier, on the COVID-19/Reserve list this week. On Sunday, the Vikings added a defensive player to the list.
Minnesota will be without S Harrison Smith for the Week 9 game in Baltimore after it placed him on the COVID-19/Reserve list, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Vikings announced that they activated S Myles Dorn from the practice squad via COVID-19 replacement.
Minnesota’s secondary can’t afford to take too many more hits. The Vikings placed Patrick Peterson on IR this season. Peterson will miss at least two more games. Minnesota also ruled CB Cameron Dantzler as questionable for the game against the Ravens.
Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson has the luxury of facing a depleted Minnesota secondary in Week 9. Bashaud Breeland is currently the best corner the Vikings have definitively playing on Sunday. After that, the team has cornerbacks Harrison Hand and Kris Boyd. Smith’s absence will negatively affect the help over the top for those players. For the Vikings, the team really needs Dantzler to play. Smith’s loss is a massive blow to its chances.
