Vikings pick USC offensive lineman Austin Jackson in CBS Sports mock draft

If USC’s Austin Jackson is on the board, do you want the Vikings drafting him or should they wait to get an offensive lineman?

The endless debate for Minnesota is whether it should take on offensive lineman with its first-round pick or wait to shore up the position later in the draft.

CBS Sports thinks it might be a decision for the first round. The Vikings selected USC offensive lineman Austin Jackson with the 25th overall pick in CBS Sports’ mock draft.

Here’s what they had to say about the pick:

Vikings RT Brian O’Neill is coming off a strong sophomore season but (Riley) Reiff, 31, is entering the final year of his deal. Jackson has prototypical size for an NFL left tackle but he moves like someone 100 pounds lighter. He had a standout campaign for the Trojans and could be one of the top offensive linemen drafted this spring.

Not only is Reiff entering the final year of his deal, the Vikings can save some money if they cut him, so that position could open up sooner rather than later.
