Vikings nab Clemson CB Andrew Booth Jr. in 2022 mock draft — again

Clemson CB Andrew Booth Jr. is becoming a trendy name for the Vikings in mock drafts.

With veteran corners on one-year deals, the Vikings could do something they’ve grown accustomed to in the Mike Zimmer era: they could take a cornerback in the first round of the draft.

That’s at least what a few mock drafts think the team will do. Minnesota drafted Clemson CB Andrew Booth Jr. in Touchdown Wire’s recent mock draft:

“Despite making a number of investments at the cornerback position, the Minnesota Vikings are still looking for the right combination of players on the outside.

Andrew Booth Jr. is an athletic cornerback with ideal length and ball skills, traits that show up on this play against Wake Forest:”

The Viking also took Booth in ESPN’s recent mock draft.

Minnesota will need to potentially replace Patrick Peterson and/or Bashaud Breeland next year. Whether the team wants to move off of both, one or none remains to be seen, but given the Vikings’ cap space at the moment, at least one cornerback walking is likely.
