In what feels like forever ago, Minnesota found itself 13th in Touchdown Wire’s Week 1 power rankings. The Vikings were a team that was thought to be a contender, just not one of the very best.
But as the weeks progressed, it wasn’t crazy for the Vikings to be listed outside the top 20 or even top 30 of various rankings that outlets did.
After the Vikings’ win on Monday over the Bears, putting the team outside the top 20 would go back to being a crazy pick.
Our friends at Touchdown Wire have noticed the Vikings recent rise, and the outlet has Minnesota as the 16th best team in its rankings now. Here’s what it said about Minnesota:
“Now look at their next three games,” Mark Schofield of Touchdown Wire wrote. “The Vikings play Dallas, Carolina and Jacksonville over the next three weeks. They could be 7-5 before they meet up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 13th. Talk about a turnaround.”
These next games are crucial for Minnesota. Getting a playoff spot starts with consistency. The team can’t afford any games like the one it had vs. the Falcons. The Vikings have pulled off some surprising wins recently. Now, they have to start beating the teams they are supposed to beat.
