For the third time this season, Vikings kicker Dan Bailey has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
In Week 15 against the Chargers, Bailey was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals and 3-for-4 on extra points. He hit field goals from 26 yards, 44 yards, 38 yards and 27 yards.
Don’t look now, but Bailey is having himself quite the season. He’s connected on 22 of 24 field goals (his 91.6 percent ranks fifth in the league) and is a perfect 3-for-3 on kicks 50 or more yards. His only misses have come from 40-49 yards.
Remember when the Vikings traded for Kaare Vedvik? Ah, memories.
If there is a complaint, it’s that Bailey has missed four of 42 extra points.
Of course, Vikings fans especially know how quickly things can change for a kicker in the NFL. We’ll see if Bailey can keep it up as the Vikings approach the postseason.
