Vikings have disastrous start vs. Colts, losing 17-0 in first quarter

The Vikings are melting down in real time

Coming out of a disappointing 34-23 loss to the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings had hoped to come out with a bang and set the tone.

Unfortunately, the Colts have taken it to them to start the game.

They got a 49-yard kick return to start the game by Dallis Flowers but were able to hold the Colts to a field goal. It was once the Vikings got the ball that things got worse.

On their first drive, the Vikings went four and out and the ensuing Ryan Wright punt was blocked by former Viking Ifeadi Odenigbo blocked it and it was returned by JoJo Domann for a touchdown.

After going down 10-0, Dalvin Cook busted out a long run on a misdirection pitch that they have run multiple times for touchdowns and fumbled the ball away on the ensuing play. That led to a Colts touchdown and a 17-0 lead.

To top it all off, they failed to convert a fourth down inside their own 35-yard line, leading to the second chorus of boos from the home crowd.

The last time the Vikings hosted the Colts, they got whipped in similar fashion 34-6 and it felt incredibly similar.

The Vikings are playing atrocious football and they better find a way to figure it out.
