NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah put together his third mock draft on Tuesday morning.
Jeremiah hits the two biggest needs for the Vikings in the first round, taking a cornerback and wide receiver with their two picks.
With the 22nd pick (acquired from the Bills in the Stefon Diggs trade), Jeremiah has the Vikings drafting Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
Here’s what Jeremiah wrote about the pick:
Johnson is rock solid on tape and he has the tools to fit perfectly in the Vikings’ scheme.
At 25, the Vikings hope they find Diggs’ replacement in Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Here’s wha Jeremiah wrote about the pick:
Higgins would bring some size and red-zone ability to the Vikings’ offense.
It would be great if these were the only needs for the Vikings heading into the draft. But they will likely need more than one cornerback and receiver in this draft, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Vikings addressed the offensive line in the first round as well.
GM Rick Spielman certainly has his hands full.
