Minnesota made plenty of headlines on day one of the NFL Draft.
The Vikings took Justin Jefferson, a wide receiver out of LSU, with the 22nd pick. They followed that up by trading back to 31 and taking TCU corner Jeff Gladney.
Day two could very well also see the Vikings making some noise again, if this quote from Vikings general manager Rick Spielman is any indication:
“We’re trying to be as aggressive as we can tonight because of the amount of capital we have,” Spielman told ESPN’s Josina Anderson. “If there are players still there in the upper echelon of the second/third round once we finalize our game plan that’s a definite possibility.”
Minnesota’s picks for day two, at the moment, are No. 58, No. 89 and No. 105 overall. The 58th pick is a second-rounder, and the next two picks are in the third round.
The Vikings still have plenty of positional holes, so the team trading up to fill one of those wouldn’t be the worst idea, especially after Minnesota already traded back in the first round of the draft.
