Vikings draft S Grant Delpit in 1st round of NFL.com mock draft

Delpit is fresh off of a national championship with LSU as a junior.

The Vikings could be in the market for safety if Anthony Harris walks as an unrestricted free agent.

If that were the case, one option to fill that spot could be through the draft.

In his second mock draft over at NFL.com, Bucky Brooks has the Vikings selecting LSU safety Grant Delpit with the 25th overall pick.

Here’s what Brooks wrote about the pick:

Despite questions about his tackling ability, Delpit would upgrade the speed and athleticism in the Vikings’ secondary.

Delpit is fresh off of a national championship with LSU as a junior. Last season, he had 65 tackles (4.5 for loss), two interceptions and two sacks. He was a 2018 All-American and won the 2019 Jim Thorpe Award for the best defensive back in the NCAA.

This pick would assume Harris signs elsewhere. The Vikings could also desperately use some cornerback as well. Good luck to Rick Spielman and Co. on addressing both safety and cornerback through the draft and free agency.
