Vikings draft Florida State S Hamsah Nasirildeen in PFN mock draft

Pro Football Network made a prediction for what the Vikings will need in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Their guess? A safety

Minnesota is heading into 2020 with arguably the best safety pairing in the NFL. However, come 2021, that could all change.

Safety Anthony Harris signed his franchise tender earlier this offseason. Barring a trade or anything unexpected, Harris will be with the Vikings for 2020. But after that, his future with the team becomes murky.

Pro Football Network had Minnesota drafting a potential replacement. The team took Florida State safety Hamsah Nasirildeen in the first round.

Back-to-back Seminoles are selected as the Vikings recoup from the loss of Anthony Harris. Nasirildeen is seen somewhat like a unicorn, but for the Vikings, he will fit in nicely as a traditional safety. With elite athleticism and great ball skills, Nasirildeen will be a playmaker that will wreak havoc with Harrison Smith in the NFC North.

Similar to Harris, Nasirildeen is a tall safety and a solid tackler. Nasirildeen is a box safety, who isn’t the ball hawk that Harris is in the passing game. However, the Vikings might not want to break the bank on two safeties, so a draft pick like Nasirildeen might become the best option down the road.
