Mock draft season continues.
In the latest mock draft over at CBS Sports by Josh Edwards, Edwards has the Vikings drafting Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos with the 25th overall pick.
Here’s what Edwards wrote about the pick:
Minnesota needs another edge rusher and potentially two before long. Gross-Matos is a long player that can apply some pressure around the edge.
Gross-Matos has been a stud for Penn State over the last two seasons, combining for 17 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss.
This pick makes sense with Everson Griffen set to be a free agent. Even if the Vikings do bring Griffen back, having his replacement would be smart.
What position are the Vikings most-likely to draft in the first round? That’s a great question. Defensive line is certainly an option, as is cornerback and safety. Offensively, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the team draft on the offensive line or at wide receiver.
There are a lot of holes to fill for a team that hopes to be a Super Bowl contender.
