There’s no denying that the Vikings struggled on the defensive line in 2020.
In Ryan Wilson’s latest mock draft over at CBS Sports, he has the Vikings addressing that and drafting Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore with their 14th overall pick.
Here’s what Wilson wrote about the pick:
The Vikings need help along the defensive line and in the secondary as well, but with two edge rushers already off the board, addressing the interior with Barmore, our DT1, makes sense in the middle of Round 1. Barmore flashed throughout the ’20 season but got red hot over Alabama’s final four games.
With Michael Pierce likely to return from the reserve list in 2021, this would be quite the one-two punch for the Vikings. The Vikings will also likely get Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter back.
For those wanting the Vikings to draft a quarterback, five quarterbacks were drafted before the Vikings drafted at 14.
