Remember when the Vikings’ presumptive starters at defensive end in 2020 were going to Danielle Hunter and Yannick Ngakoue?
Well, a lot can change. With Hunter now officially out for the season and Ngakoue traded to the Ravens, the Vikings will have to make due with what they have.
Ifeadi Odenigbo, who has been filling in the starting defensive end role oppsite Ngakoue this season, is still the starter, barring anything unexpected.
Recently, Jalyn Holmes told ESPN’s Courtney Cronin and other reporters that he will be the new starter at defensive end.
The game against the Packers will be the first one since the Ngakoue trade. In what is a disappointing season thus far, Vikings fans will have to watch how certain players develop for the long term. Holmes and Odenigbo are certainly two interesting players to watch.
This move gives the rookie D. J. Wonnum a potential opportunity at more playing time.
