Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter’s absence from practice has caused quite a stir among the Vikings fan base. But according to Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer, Hunter could be ready for practice this week and the upcoming game against Green Bay.
Zimmer said “I expect so. We’ll just have to see,” according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.
Hunter has been out from practice with an undisclosed injury. His injury status will have to be disclosed this week in the team’s practice report.
Earlier this offseason, Zimmer said that Hunter was said to have a “little tweak.” The Vikings coach also said that the team is “being cautious with him, and rightfully so,” per Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported recently that Hunter isn’t expected to miss extended time, which aligns with what Zimmer said Monday.
If Hunter is ready to go, and Yannick Ngakoue has adjusted to his new team, the Packers will be going up against a menacing edge rush duo in Week 1.
