The Vikings’ 2020 has been tough.
Minnesota has lost close games, like the one to Seattle. The Vikings have also been blown out, by teams like the Falcons.
The team has had a plethora of issues arise, and Vikings offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak has garnered plenty of scorn for his play-calling.
However, the Vikings’ upset over the Packers was as impressive as it was surprising.
Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer spoke to reporters about Kubiak:
“When they go down and score on the first drive, it kind of gets some of the momentum out of you,” Zimmer said, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But when you go right down and score, it’s, ‘OK, it’s going to be a ballgame.’ That was really good. That was big of our offense. I thought Kubiak did an outstanding job (Sunday).”
Vikings running back Dalvin Cook also had something positive to say about Kubiak:
“We know he’s been believing in us all year but just to have him in that room with us, tremendous leader,” Cook said of Kubiak, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, adding that the offensive coordinator gave the offense a speech Saturday night emphasizing his belief in the run game. “As much confidence as he has in us, hats off to those guys for believing in the run game (Sunday).”
