Vikings CB Patrick Peterson describes what it’s like to play with S Harrison Smith

Vikings CB Patrick Peterson had high praise for S Harrison Smith.

CB Patrick Peterson told Vikings Wire this offseason that the Minnesota teammate he was most excited to play with was S Harrison Smith.

Peterson and Smith appear to be getting along pretty well during the season. The Vikings cornerback had high praise for the safety after their team’s victory over the Steelers:

“His eyes, and his demeanor, and just his ability to impact the game the way he did last night, it’s special,” Peterson said, per Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune. He means a lot to this defense. He means a lot to this organization. It just goes to show, us old guys can still play.”

Peterson described Smith as a “commander by not even saying much.”

“Even in a game, you’ve got 60,000 people, and Harry’s still talking like he’s right next to you. I’m like, ‘Harry, we’re in a football game right now,'” Peterson said, per Goessling.

Smith did well enough at the end of the Week 14 game to break up a pass in the end zone as time expired. The Vikings pulled off the 36-28 victory over the Steelers. Minnesota will play Chicago in Week 15.
