Vikings awarded three compensatory draft picks

The news has finally arrived. Minnesota has received three compensatory picks for the 2020 draft.

Minnesota has earned three compensatory picks for the 2020 NFL Draft, according to a report.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Vikings will have one compensatory pick in the third round and two in the seventh. Minnesota’s third round pick is the 105th overall pick in the draft, and the two seventh-rounders are 249th and 253rd overall.

The most compensatory picks a team can be awarded is four. This season, the Patriots received four compensatory picks, which was a league best.

Minnesota’s third round pick will help the team add much-needed depth in an offseason that could see a lot of veteran players find new teams.

The compensatory picks are based off free-agent losses and gains in 2019. Minnesota’s three extra picks bring the team to 10 in total. For more on compensatory picks from across the league in the NFL Draft, you can read this report from Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling.
