The Vikings have a unique blend of talented veterans and young players with potential on their team heading into the 2020 season and beyond that.
There are win-now players like Kirk Cousins and Harrison Smith. The team also had 15 draft picks in the last draft, so the future appears to be bright as well.
In ESPN’s future power rankings, which projects the next three seasons for teams, the Vikings rank 12th overall, but first among NFC North teams.
Here’s a snippet of what Seth Walder wrote about the Vikings:
Minnesota is at a critical point at safety, with Harrison Smith still among the game’s elite but entering his ninth season, and Anthony Harris on the franchise tag. Minnesota will have to pick one of them next year, and here’s guessing it will be Smith, who has two years left on his deal and should age well. The Vikings could use a stout corner to complement Mike Hughes and Jeff Gladney.
To round out the NFC North, the Packers rank 15th, the Lions rank 25th and the Bears rank 31st.
