According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings and Ravens are finalizing a trade to send Yannick Ngakoue to Baltimore in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 conditional fifth-round pick.

Minnesota acquired Ngakoue via trade from Jacksonville right before the season started, sending the Jaguars a 2021 second-round pick and conditional fifth-rounder in 2022. But now, with the Vikings starting 1-5 and Ngakoue having five sacks already, the team is reportedly making a change.

Ngakoue can’t join the Ravens immediately, but he will head to Baltimore soon for COVID-19 testing.

“New Ravens’ DE Yannick Ngakoue will fly to Baltimore in the next 24 hours to go through COVID testing so that he can be ready to join his new team next week after it comes off its bye and returns to start preparations for next Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Schefter said on Twitter.

The Vikings had to put Danielle Hunter on IR, but Ngakoue stepped up for the team this season. Now with Ngakoue gone, as well, Vikings fans should expect players like Jalyn Holmes and D. J. Wonnum to get more reps at defensive end.
